My Little Pony fans to gallop into digitally recreated version of ‘Vanhoover’ (PHOTOS)

Over the weekend hundreds of Bronies will descend in a virtually recreated version of Vancouver for a three-day event

Hundreds of My Little Pony fans are set to trot into a digitally recreated version of “Vanhoover” for a three-day event.

The Vanhoover Pony Expo is a My Little Pony (MLP) convention normally held in Richmond each January, however, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the event has been moved online. Event attendees can connect with other Bronies over Twitch and Discord as they canter around the PonyTown server inside of which the city of Vancouver has been recreated.

PonyTown is a social sprite-based MMORPG where players can create their own MLP character and hang out in virtual spaces a la Club Penguin.

The Vanhoover server has such classic Vancouver locations as the 9 o’clock gun, the Burrard Street Bridge, BC and Canada Place, the Harbour Centre, Granville Street Bridge, and of course the English Bay Barge.

The event runs from Jan. 7 - 9. For more information, you can check out the Vanhoover Pony Expo website or the PonyTown server page.
