While the rain mostly held back over the long weekend, Vancouver's clouds are set to release a nearly week-long deluge.

Starting Tuesday (Oct. 12) afternoon Vancouver will receive 5 to 10 mm with southeast winds reaching 30-50 km/h. The rain will continue on into the evening dumping another 10 to 15 mm.

The following days look to be much the same with Environment Canada reporting Oct. 13 will be cloudy with a 60 percent chance of showers in the morning then a mix of sun and cloud. After that possible respite, it's back to rain for the next four days until Sunday where the sun will try and push through the now empty clouds.

Throughout the week temperatures will range from 6 to the low teens.

Environment Canada is calling for a warmer than average autumn on the south coast of B.C. in its complete forecast released Sept.1 — the first day of meteorological fall.

This winter La Niña could also impact temperatures in the Lower Mainland region, as well as the amount of snow. Currently, the federal weather forecaster's models are indicating that there is a "medium" chance of a weak La Niña this winter but that its effects won't show until December.
