Safety alert: Canada-wide recall of vacuum cleaners due to 'fire hazard'

Immediately stop using the recalled products.

Health Canada warns that a certain type of battery pack contained within a hybrid, robotic vacuum may pose a fire hazard.

A recall notification that was updated on Wednesday, Oct. 18, states that the battery pack within certain eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid Vacuums and/or eufy Replacement Battery packs can "overheat while charging or soon after charging, posing a fire hazard."

As of Oct. 13, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada, and 240 units were sold from March 2023 to July 2023.

This recall involves the following products:

  • eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid (T2261)
  • eufy RoboVac Replacement Battery Pack 2600mAh (T2908)
  • eufy RoboVac Replacement Battery Pack 5200mAh (T2937)

What you should do

Immediately stop using the recalled vacuum/battery and visit Anker online to determine if you have an affected battery.

If you have an affected battery, contact Anker Innovations Ltd. for a free replacement.
