Comedy fans, check out a few big acts coming your way very soon.
House of Comedy at the Columbia Theatre is featuring a series of upcoming shows by Tim Dillon, a stand-up comedian who won the title of New York's Funniest at Caroline's NY Comedy Festival in 2016. He had two specials premiere in 2018, a Comedy Central Half Hour and a Netflix Quarter Hour, and he has performed at festivals including the Oddball Comedy Festival, Glasgow Comedy Festival, SXSW and others. He's onstage Feb. 20 to 23.
Then you'll be able to take in shows by Canadian comedian TRIXX – who, as a press release puts it, “has developed a cult following with his no-holds-barred, take-no-prisoners brand of comedy,” mixing commentary on pop culture, relationships, music and sex with insights on being black in Canada.
TRIXX has been an on-air personality on Toronto’s FLOW 93.5 and was a regular on MuchMusic’s Video on Trial. He was a finalist in the 2009 Great Canadian Laugh Off and has performed multiple times at the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal.
You can find him onstage from Feb. 27 to March 1.
Then, from March 5 to 8, the club is featuring Leonard Ouzts, a 26-year-old rising star in the stand-up comedy world. He has performed on Conan, Adam Devine’s House Party and Gotham Comedy Live. Ouzts was also selected as a “New Face” at the prestigious Just For Laughs festival in Montreal and was recently named by RollingStone.com as a Top Ten Comic to Watch.
