Van Dop Gallery is inviting New Westminster art lovers to experience an exhibition of work by Leanne M. Christie.
Christie’s Urban Landscapes is on display at the Richmond Street gallery, and visitors are welcome to book appointments to see it until Oct. 8.
“Christie experiments with a hierarchy that places supremacy on brushstroke, then colour and finally composition without retreating into abstraction,” says a write-up from the gallery. “Christie’s paintings have become easily identifiable by the powerful use of white, the myriad of greys, the vigorous brushwork that dances on the edge of abstraction, and the exploration of the urban streetscape as the catalyst of culture.”
Appointments to visit the gallery can be booked between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Up to four people are allowed in the gallery at a time, to conform with COVID-19 protocols.
