A New Westminster actor has joined the cast of SyFy’s Van Helsing for its final season.
Raresh DiMofte plays Captain Rasto in the series, which is set in a post-apocalyptic near future. It centres on Vanessa Van Helsing, a descendant of Abraham Van Helsing, who must save humanity from the vampires.
It’s the latest in a string of achievements for DiMofte, who just came off a run as Babinov in Netflix’s Wu Assassins. He can also be seen playing alongside Elijah Wood in the film Come to Daddy, soon to be released in theatres in the U.S.
Over the past couple of years, DiMofte has earned multiple awards at film festivals around the world as Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor for his performances in Polymorphia and Kingspin.
DiMofte and his wife, Nadia DiMofte – the executive director of Raindance Vancouver – are heading back to their native Romania to launch Raindance Romania. Raindance is a not-for-profit organization that promotes and supports the independent film community.
