The outdoor music season is drawing to a close in New Westminster - but you still have a couple of weekends left in the Uptown Unplugged series.

The series sees musicians performing live on weekends from noon to 2 p.m. - on Saturdays in front of Westminster Centre, and then on Sundays at Royal City Centre.

This weekend, on Sept. 1, audiences can enjoy a performance by Larry's Brother and Kelly Kay. Larry's Brother is an electric and acoustic guitarist and singer who plays a range of Acadian music, country and contemporary light rock. Kelly Kay is a professional bass player and singer with more than 20 years' experience touring, playing festivals and clubs.

On Sept. 2, it's time to hear from Leonard Pallerstein, a local guitarist and guiar teacher who recently decided to dedicate all his time inpursuit of his main passion: solo acoustic guitar. He has been in a number of projects and bands, ranging from rock to funk and party bands.

Uptown Unplugged winds up for the season on Sept. 9. See www.artscouncilnewwest.org/uptownunplugged for all the details.
