OK, New West, a weighty decision rests in your hands: Which movies should the City of New Westminster show this summer?

The city is once again making plans for open air cinema on Friday evenings in July – including a first-ever adult-only night, with concession serving food and liquor until 11 p.m. That one’s happening on July 26 at Westminster Pier Park, where the Eats at the Pier concession stand will be open from 9 to 11 p.m. for the occasion.

There’s also an added bonus for the Moody Park screening on July 19: the pool will stay open until 9:30 p.m. so you can swim before the movie starts.

The city currently has an online survey up to poll people on their movie choices for each of the nights.

For July 5, at Port Royal Park, it’s either The Emperor’s New Groove or Ice Age.

For July 12, in Sapperton Park, you can choose between Kung Fu Panda and The LEGO Movie.

For July 19, in Moody Park, you can choose between The Avengers and The Fast and the Furious.

Then, for the 19-plus night at Westminster Pier Park on July 26, you can choose between The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Voting is open until May 31, so go to www.newwestcity.ca/movies to cast your vote.
