Are you a secret singer-in-the-shower just longing to share your talents with the world? A budding storyteller wishing you could bring your message to the microphone?

Here’s your chance.

100 Braid Street Studios is launching an open mic night series on the first Monday of the month – yes, that means tonight, May 6.  People of all ages and all talents are invited to bring their performance to the stage to share with a friendly, welcoming crowd. All types of performing artists – actors, musicians, poets, authors, etc. – are invited to share their work, and youth are encouraged to take part.

Sign-up starts at 7 p.m., and performances start at 7:20 p.m. Time slots are eight minutes, with 10 slots assigned for the night. (There will also be a waiting list for people with pieces under five minutes, to fill the gaps that may happen if the show runs ahead of schedule.)

A featured artist will open and close each show – tonight’s event features Stephanie Lam of Quayside Voices.

An electric keyboard will be available, and there’s a concession on hand.

Admission is on a pay-what-you-can basis (suggested donation of $5). Check out www.100braidststudios.com for the details, or just stop in to the studio tonight to check out the fun.
