Local audiences have a chance to enjoy some QUINTessential a cappella music at an upcoming concert.
Two a cappella quintets - New Westminster’s own Quayside Voices and the Victoria-based Fifth Street – are teaming up for an evening of music at 100 Braid Street Studios on Saturday, June 1.
Quayside Voices – who are known for their original a cappella takes on pop favourites - will be offering up a packed set of new material, including a new original song, Restless Wanderer, written by singer Justin Pham and arranged by singer Alyssa Inouye.
Fifth Street, meanwhile, will offer up its jazzy takes on top favourites along with some soulful originals.
The two groups will also join forces for some combined, 10-voice numbers.
The show is part of fifth anniversary celebrations for 100 Braid Street Studios and part of the grand opening of the studio’s new second-floor space. The second-floor studios will be open for exploration at intermission.
The show is all-ages friendly, and tickets are free for children aged 12 and under. Student tickets are $15, and general admission tickets are $25.
