Here’s one for the book lovers: The New West Artists Gallery (712C 12th St.) will be hosting a book launch event on Friday, Nov. 29 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Author Shawn Gale will launch his new collection of stories, The Stories That Make Us. Gale is a member of the Writers Union of Canada and Royal City Literary Arts Society, and he’s also a longtime member of the Burnaby Writers Society.

Books will be available for purchase at the event (and since you can get them personally signed by the author, why not consider a nice Christmas gift for the word-lover on your list?)
