Two New Westminster middle schools are the latest to see COVID-19 exposures.
The Glenbrook Middle School and Queensborough Middle School communities have both been notified of cases in their schools in recent days. Both sets of exposures were posted on the Fraser Health school website this morning.
Glenbrook Middle School families received a letter Dec. 7 regarding exposures on Dec. 1, 2 and 3 (Nov. 30 is also listed as an exposure date, but as that was a non-instructional day, students were not present in the school).
Queensborough Middle School is listed as having two sets of exposures: Nov. 24 and 25, and Dec. 2 and 3. Both sets of dates were just posted.
It’s the third set of notification letters for Glenbrook and the second for Queensborough. Although Queensborough was one of the first schools in the district to report a COVID-19 exposure, with the first case dating back to Sept. 21 and 22, this most recent one is the first notice since.
Since the beginning of the year, eight of the New Westminster school district’s 12 schools have had reported COVID-19 exposures.
Those include the district’s largest school, New Westminster Secondary, along with all three middle schools: Queensborough, Glenbrook and Fraser River.
Among elementary schools, Lord Tweedsmuir, Queen Elizabeth, Richard McBride and Qayqayt have all seen exposures.
So far, no exposures have been reported at Connaught Heights, F.W. Howay, Herbert Spencer or Lord Kelvin elementary schools, nor at the district’s alternate programs.
Here’s a look at the reported exposure dates in all the district schools so far:
