New Westminster saw 47 new cases of COVID-19 in the week of Sept. 26 to Oct. 2, BCCDC data shows.

New Westminster recorded 47 new cases of COVID-19 last week, according to the latest B.C. Centre for Disease Control data.

The number, recorded between Sept. 26 and Oct. 2, puts the city's case counts in line with the previous three weeks, which saw 46, 45 and 50 new cases of COVID-19.

The recent plateau is a drop from the city's fourth-wave high of 66, recorded in the week of Aug. 29 to Sept. 4 – the highest number New West had seen since May.

At the same time, other COVID-19 numbers are also holding steady.

Test positivity in New Westminster stands at 4%, the same as last week.

And the daily case rate for the week of Sept. 28 to Oct. 4 was at 9 per 100,000, up just slightly from 8 per 100,000 in the previous two weeks.
