Perogy dinner
The monthly perogy supper at Holy Eucharist Church Hall in New West takes place this Saturday.

You may have missed out on the Holy Eucharist Church’s Christmas bake sale but you still have a chance to fill up on its tasty perogies.

In December, the church held a bake sale where community members could buy assorted items, including Ukrainian traditional breads (kolachi), fresh pies, frozen perogies and cabbage rolls, Ukrainian sausage, borscht and more.

“The Christmas bake sale was totally successful. They sold out of all varieties of perogies (excepting a few dozen blueberry perogies) and cabbage rolls,” said an email from the church. “We had an option for customers to pre-order for the first time ever and it was favorable. Should the parish have the bake sale again next Christmas, a few more people may consider pre-ordering.”

Holy Eucharist Church is holding this month’s Ukrainian Perogy supper on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church hall at 501 Fourth Ave. It will also be having perogy sales that day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
