You can get together with friends online for a bit of fun and support two local non-profit organizations – all from the comforts of home.

Queen's Park Healthcare Foundation is partnering with Arts Council of New West on a Virtual Trivia Night Fundraiser. The event is on Thursday, Dec. 3 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

In addition to raising money for the two organizations, participants have a chance to win cash prizes – $500 for first place, $250 for second place and $100 for third place.

Have fun while maintaining physical distance and help us raise much-needed funds to provide physical rehabilitation excellence for patients on their journey to recovery and supportive care within a living environment for seniors unable to live at home,” said a notice about the event. “Tuning into the Virtual Trivia Game is simple. The live game link will be sent to your email after registration, no app download is necessary, just click and play.”

The online trivia night is a live event that’s taking place across Canada and the United States. Tickets are $20 and available at www.eventbrite.com (search for Queen's Park Healthcare Foundation).

Lizz Kelly, executive director of the Queen's Park Healthcare Foundation, said the foundation received great feedback from participants during its first online trivia event.

“This was a really fun event,” said one of the participants. “I hadn't attended one of these before and was so impressed at how quickly things moved along – no time to get distracted, that's for sure.”
