Richard McBride Elementary school’s parent advisory council is hosting its first-ever clothing swap to help you rid your children’s closets of clothes that no longer spark joy for them.

The inaugural clothing swap is happening on Thursday, Feb. 28 and again on Wednesday, March 6.

Everyone is welcome to donate any clothing they’d like to share with others, including boys and girls clothing, shoes and boots, and accessories. There’ll also be a small area for adult clothing. Organizers ask that all donations are separated into categories.

“As children grow so quickly, we would love to see others benefit from the clothing that no longer fits,” notes an event write-up.

Donations are being accepted in the gym Tuesday, Feb. 26 from 2:50 to 3:30 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 to 9 a.m. outside, under the covered area behind the gym.

This Thursday, the swap is on from 3 to 5 p.m. and on March 6 it’s happening from noon to 2 p.m. at the school, 331 Richmond St. Any clothes left after 2:15 p.m. on March 6 will be donated to Big Brothers.
