Hippies had Woodstock. Pooches will have Woofstock.

Puppies and pooches are expected to descend on Queensborough later this month for the first-ever Woofstock Festival. Aragon Properties is hosting the Woofstock dog festival at Port Royal Park on Saturday, Sept. 21 from noon to 3 p.m.

“This family-friendly event invites local pets and pet owners to come and connect with other dog-friendly neighbours through fun activations, contests, live entertainment, food trucks and much more,” said a write-up about the event. “Woofstock is a great way to come and visit the 52-acre master planned community of Port Royal, surrounded by parks, playgrounds, waterfront walkways, and more.”

Port Royal Park is located at 215 Salter St. (not far from the Q to Q ferry dock in Queensborough). Because parking is limited in the area, organizers encourage attendees to walk or take public transit.
