The New Westminster Historical Society is diving into the Brunette River at this month’s meeting.

Brunette River Projects, the Brunette River Diversion, and More Brunette River Stories is the topic of this month’s meeting, which is on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. at the New Westminster Public Library, 716 Sixth Ave.

“The Brunette River has a long history with a great many facets adding to its story over the years,” said a press release from the society. “Under the leadership of Vic Leach, a project of the New Westminster Environmental Partners Society is seeking information to fill in some blank spots in its story including items such as the Brunette River Diversion, tributaries that connect with the Brunette, the many parts of its early history, and its future. The presentation will lay out some of this story through news, facts and photos of this river and its tributaries.

The program is free and everyone is welcome to attend.
