Walk With Your Doc kicks off

NOW columnists Davidicus Wong emcees event

Doctors of B.C. held a Walk With Your Doc event at Vancouver's Kitsilano Beach last Saturday, and Burnaby NOW health columnist Davidicus Wong was the emcee.
The idea behind the event was to promote exercise as a way of improving health.
"Our bodies are meant to move. When we don't, our health suffers; when we do, we thrive," Wong said.
Roughly 150 people participated in the two-kilometre walk around the seawall. They received free pedometers and pamphlets with tips on walking 10,000 steps per day. Wong also brought Burnaby patients to the event.
The Vancouver walk was the first in a series of similar events around the province, running until May 11.
