Grade 8 students at École Glenbrook Middle School are raising money for their graduation event. They’ve planned a community bottle drive for this Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the school’s parking lot (Park Crescent and Seventh Avenue).

The kids will be accepting all kinds of returnable beverage containers, including water, pop, juice, beer wine and liquor containers as well as aluminum cans, plastic or glass bottles and tetra pack containers. Donations can be dropped off anytime during the event, according to an email from the school’s parent advisory council.

Money collected through the bottle drive will be used to help pay for the Grade 8 graduation party. It’s held in June and this year’s theme is enchanted forest. There will be a dinner, DJ, a photo booth and a tattoo booth (temporary, of course), according to the PAC.

If you can’t make it to the drive on Saturday, consider dropping off your donations directly at the Queensborough Return-It Depot, 409 Boyne St. Just tell them it’s for the EGMS grad or account number 610.
