Fraser River Discovery Centre is focusing on salmon this spring break.

The centre is offering spring break camps for kids in kindergarten to Grade 5 from March 23 to 27. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily, with pre-and post-care available for an additional fee.

Stephen Bruyneel, the centre’s director of external relations and development, said the centre’s camps are becoming more and more popular each year, so parents should sign up their kids to avoid potential disappointment. This year’s theme is Spectacular Salmon.

“Salmon play an important ecological, economic and cultural role in the Fraser River and this camp celebrates every aspect of their life,” Bruyneel said. “Through activities, games and more, campers will learn about a salmon’s habitat, lifecycle and what it takes for them to survive in the dangers of the open ocean.”
