Family Services of Greater Vancouver wants to help people claim money they may be missing out on if they haven’t filed their taxes.
The local non-profit is holding free tax filing events on Thursday, March 7 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, March 14 from 12:30 to 3 p.m.) at the Queensborough Community Centre, 920 Ewen Ave. People are invited to drop in and have their taxes filed for free by Canada Revenue Agency volunteers and to learn how they may be eligible for tax credits and monthly benefits.
To find out if you’re eligible for free tax filing, go to fsgv.ca/free-tax-filing event. If you’re eligible, be sure to bring one piece of photo ID, your social insurance number, any tax information and slips you may have.
According to Family Services, the clinics can be “hugely helpful to people financially, particularly seniors, new parents and newcomers.
