Century House is on the hunt for folks who want to use their skills and experiences in new ways.

An information session about LEADS Leadership Training is being held at Century House on Tuesday, May 28 at 10 a.m. If you’re 50 or older, retired or preparing to retire, and want a creative connection to the community and a meaningful volunteer experience, you may want to check it out.

“LEADS (Learning, Educating and Developing Seniors) support your interest in lifelong learning, starting with a series of workshops exploring leadership, communication and development topics. LEADS give you a supportive environment to develop the skills and confidence to take on leadership roles in your community,” said a write-up about the information session. “LEADS give you the opportunity to practise those skills by co-presenting a public workshop at Century House.”

Following the information session, LEADS interviews will take place in June and July, and training will begin in September. The 10 weeks of workshops will include talks, videos and interactive games.

“LEADS leadership training program promotes and stimulates wellbeing, a sense of belonging, a feeling of achievement, recognition and contribution to the community,” said a write-up. “The LEADS program aspires to tap into the potential of seniors by encouraging them to share their wisdom, skills and talents for the benefit of their future endeavours.”
