With a huge influx of listings coming onto the market, there are a lot of gorgeous homes for sale to drool over right now. But our pick this week is a stunning Olympic Village condo in an eco-friendly building designed by an architectural legend.

Taking up the entire waterside half of the ground floor of Canada House, co-designed by Arthur Erickson for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics before he died in 2009, the 3,029-square-foot condo is listed for $6,800,000.

The luxury home has three bedrooms, including a generous master suite with a walk-through closet and its own patio, and two further bedrooms, both with ensuite bathrooms. The main living area is an expansive great room with kitchen, dining space, living area and family room, and there’s also an office/den and laundry room. The listing description says the condo is the largest ground-floor waterfront home in the Olympic Village.

Off the great room is a larger patio with unobstructed False Creek, city and mountain views, and direct access to the False Creek seawall. In total there is 329 square feet of outdoor living space. The home also comes with an additional 986 square feet of separate storage rooms, plus two parking spaces.

REW Property Insights reveals that the condo was last sold in November 2013 for $3,234,185. However, the current sale price is below the most recent B.C. Assessment of $7,031,000, which was higher than the previous year’s $6,346,000 assessed value. Property taxes in 2018 totalled $12,430, and the new owner will also have to pay $1,877 a month in strata fees for this high-maintenance building.
