The BC Liberal Party is preparing to welcome a new leader in 2022.
The party announced Friday that it had officially launched a leadership process that will determine the party’s future "on a fundamental level."
A new leader will be elected in a little under a year, on February 5, 2022. Voting will take place from February 3-5.
To date, Skeena MLA Ellis Ross is the only leadership candidate to have publicly announced an intention to campaign.
Andrew Wilkinson, MLA for Vancouver-Quilchena, resigned as party leader earlier this month. His resignation triggered a leadership vote, which is required to take place by February 16, 2022.
Shirley Bond currently serves as interim leader of the official opposition. She is the MLA for Prince George-Valemount.
