Film buffs, don't miss out on the next Last Mondays at the Movies.
The Way screens at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 27 as part of the Arts Council of New Westminster's film series.
The movie stars Martin Sheen as Tom, an American doctor who travels to St. Jean Pied de Port, France, to collect the remains of his adult son (played by Emilio Estevez), who was killed in the Pyrenees while walking the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route, also known as The Way of St. James.
Tom decides to embark on the pilgrimage to honour his son.
"What Tom doesn't plan on is the profound impact the journey will have on him and his 'California bubble life,'" a film synopsis says.
"The Way is a powerful drama and inspirational story about family, friends and the challenges we face while navigating this ever-changing and complicated world."
Tickets are $9, available at the door. Check out the website at www.artscouncilnewwest.org for more.
