The Van Dop Gallery is showcasing the work of three prominent British Columbia artists in its next exhibition.

From Land to Sea runs at the gallery from Sept. 17 to Oct. 17.

It moves to the River Market on Sept. 23 and 24 for a special feature weekend as part of the Artists on the River festival, and it then returns to the market on Oct. 1 and 2 for the nationwide celebration of Culture Days.

On the weekend of Oct. 1, artist MONK will be on site as a special guest featuring some of her current works.

A press release from the gallery notes that the exhibition focuses on the beauty of the British Columbian landscape.

"Featured artists Maggie White, Peter Molenaar and Carole Arnston each propose a unique vision in capturing the ever-changing beauty, harmony and energy of nature," the release says.

It notes that White's animated and colourful paintings evoke a landscape that's "spirited and vivacious," while Arnston's work portrays a more subtly ominous vision of land and sea. Molenaar, too, addresses the hidden forces of nature while also hinting at its "whimsical and inviting" side.

"Commonly, all three artists exhibiting in From Land to Sea express a reverence and appreciation for the beauty of nature and the art of painting," the release says.

Van Dop Gallery is at 421 Richmond St. To arrange a visit, call 604-521-7887 or see www.vandopgallery.com for more information.
