The Van Dop Gallery is inviting you to get into the spirit of the season.
The New Westminster art gallery is presenting its Spirit of the Season 2011 open house, featuring the Art of Gift Giving exhibition.
The gallery will be open on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for an open house that will allow visitors to enjoy a mug of homemade apple cider and find gifts for friends and family or decorations for the home.
Artistic offerings will include treasures from hand-blown glass ornaments to functional pottery to one-of-a-kind paintings, at a variety of prices to suit all budgets.
Spirit of the Season 2011 is featuring the handmade jewelry of Joanna Lovett, a Burnaby artist who will be on hand at the open house.
Lovett's sculpting background and training under European goldsmiths at the Vancouver School of Jewellery and Design has helped perfect the fine detailing of her work as she strives to create soft edges and textures in her pieces.
The exhibition will continue until Dec. 24.
The gallery is open Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., or weekdays by appointment.
