New Westminster actor stars in The Wizard of Oz

A New Westminster resident will be one of the stars when Footlight Theatre presents The Wizard of Oz in November. The musical is running at Michael J. Fox Theatre in Burnaby Nov. 4 to 19.

The musical is running at Michael J. Fox Theatre in Burnaby Nov. 4 to 19.

Ben Wardle, a familiar face in the Royal City's musical theatre scene, will be starring as Scarecrow in the production, alongside 12-year-old Michelle Creber as Dorothy, Theo Marx as Tin Man and Chris Adams as the Cowardly Lion.

Also starring are Kimberley Page as the Wicked Witch of the West, Bree Greig as Glinda the Good Witch, and Jason Logan as the Wizard.

Director-choreographer Lalainia Lindbjerg Strelau and musical director Michael Creber are working with a team of award-winning designers including Marshall McMahen on sets, Michael Schaldemose on lighting and New Westminster's Christina Sinosich on costumes.
