Poetry in the Park takes readings outside

Summer is the best time for spoken word in New Westminster because that's when poetry is let loose in the great outdoors.

The weekly Poetry In the Park sessions will start up again on Wednesday, July 3, hosted by the city's poet laureate, Candice James and presented by the Royal City Literary Arts Society.

Every Wednesday from 6: 30 to 8: 30 p.m., between July 3 and Aug. 28, there will be an open mike and poetry readings on the stage at the bandshell in Queen's Park - unless it's raining, in which case the event will move to the Centennial Lodge just behind the bandshell.
