Local author earns another nomination

JJ Lee has another honour to add to an already long list of kudos for his debut book. Lee, a New Westminster author, has just been named a finalist for the Hubert Evans Non-Fiction Prize in the B.C. Book Prizes.

Lee, a New Westminster author, has just been named a finalist for the Hubert Evans Non-Fiction Prize in the B.C. Book Prizes.

Lee is being nominated for The Measure of a Man: The Story of a Father, a Son and a Suit.

The book was a 2012 finalist for the Charles Taylor Prize for Non-Fiction and a 2011 finalist for the GovernorGeneral's Literary Award for Non-Fiction.

The Globe and Mail named it as a Best Book selection for 2011, and it was also an Editor's Pick at Amazon. ca and named one of the best books of the year by Kobo.

The B.C. Book Prizes recognize the best British Columbian work in seven categories.

Along with the Hubert Evans prize, there are the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize, the Roderick Haig-Brown Regional Prize, the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize, the Christie Harris Illustrated Children's Literature Prize, the Sheila A. Egoff Children's Literature Prize and the Bill Duthie Booksellers' Choice Award.

The winners will be recognized at the B.C. Book Prizes Gala on May 12.
