Film lovers, have you set aside your Monday nights for Last Mondays at the Movies?

The next in the Arts Council of New Westminster's film series is up on Monday, March 26, with a screening of Buck.

The movie tells the story of Buck Brannaman, the inspiration for the novel The Horse Whisperer.

Up next, on April 30, it's The Iron Lady, featuring Meryl Streep's Academy Award-winning turn as British prime minister Margaret Thatcher.

As with all the movies in the series, they screen at the Massey Theatre and start at 7: 30 p.m. Tickets are $9, available at the door on show nights.

FOODIE'S DELIGHT

Food, wine and music are joining forces for an upcoming evening in support of the B.C. Cultural Crawl.

The Naramata on the River event is coming on Tuesday, April 24 to River Market.

The event will feature spring release wines from the Naramata Bench in the Okanagan - with a lengthy list of wineries that will be familiar to those of us who like to tour the area.

Among them are some of my personal favourites - Elephant Island, Hillside Estate, Lake Breeze, Therapy, Kettle Valley and many, many more.

Culinary offerings will be presented by River Market vendors including Crepe des Amis, Donald's Market, Orlando Catering, Pamola Bakery, the Crab Shop, Tre Galli Gelato Caffe, Wild Rice, Re-Up BBQ and the Paddlewheeler Pub, along with a variety of other guests.

The evening will also feature a silent auction, art exhibition and performances by the Vancouver Circus School, Gillian Hobbs and the Sarah Kennedy Jazz Trio.

The fun runs from 6: 30 to 9: 30 p.m.

Tickets are $85 each. Call 604-521-7887 or email events@bcculturalcrawl. com. You can also buy online at www.okres.bc.ca - enter "Naramata on the River" into the Search box.
