The Vagabond Players are cooking up some laughs for their next production.
The theatre group is offering up The Kitchen Witches, a comedy by Caroline Smith, from March 15 to April 14 at the Bernie Legge Theatre.
Jacqollyne Keath directs Deborah Tom and Cindy Peterson Good as two duelling divas, Isobel Lomax and Dolly Biddle.
They're the hostesses of a cable cooking show who have hated each other for more than 30 years - ever since Larry Biddle dated one and married the other.
"When circumstances result in the ladies appearing together in the same cooking show, the insults are flying harder than the food," a press release says.
Dolly's TV producer son, Stephen Biddle (played by Ryan Johnson), tries - without success - to keep the ladies on track, while Rob the camera guy (played by Howard Dai) is a teenager who works to keep Stephen focused.
Costumes are by Patricia McClean, and set design is by Craig Premack.
The Bernie Legge Theatre is in Queen's Park.
Shows run Thursday to Saturday at 8 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $15 regular, or $13 for seniors and students, with two-for-one previews on March 15 and 16.
