Two country legends are coming to life on the Massey Theatre stage on March 15.
Country Legends: Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash is onstage at the theatre at 7: 30 p.m., featuring David James and the Big River band in a Cash tribute and Sara-Jeanne Hosie in a tribute to Cline.
James will recreate such hits as Folsom Prison Blues, Ring of Fire, Hey Porter, Rock Island Line, Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down, A Boy Named Sue, Man in Black and Walk the Line.
Interwoven with Cash's most famous songs will be a multimedia presentation including video and some never-before-seen photos of Cash and June Carter Cash from the archives of Jonathan Holiff - the son of Saul Holiff, Cash's manager.
The audience will also be treated to a sneak peek at My Father and the Man in Black, a documentary about the often tumultuous relationship between Cash and Saul Holiff.
"This will certainly be a show not to missed by any true fan of Johnny Cash," said Tina Coldwell, manager of David James and the Big River band, in an email.
Not to be outdone, Cline fans will also enjoy a top-notch performer in the person of Hosie, who performed to critical and audience acclaim in A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline in shows throughout B.C.
She'll take on classics such as Faded Love, I Fall to Pieces and the iconic Sweet Dreams.
Tickets are $38.50, available at 604-521-5050 or through www.masseytheatre.com.
