Do angels really have wings? Are the pearly gates pearly?

These questions are pondered by Jack and Susie Cameron (played by Mike and Cathe Busswood) in Pam Valentine's whimsical comedy Spirit Level.

Vagabond Players are staging the production at the Bernie Legge Theatre in Queen's Park from Oct. 6 to 29.

Spirit Level is set in Cobbler's Cottage, which is haunted by the ghosts of the Camerons - who are annoyed to find themselves victims of a tragic accident.

To ensure their privacy, they're scaring all interested tenants away - much to the distraction of Mark Webster (David Wallace), the real estate agent trying to rent out the property.

Things are about to change, however, when a young couple arrives whose tastes are very similar to those of the Camerons.

"The ghosts take a shine to the newcomers, and perhaps an ethereal co-habitation can be reached - if a meddling mother-in-law and a befuddled Guardian Angel can be got out of the way," a press release explains.

Shows run Thursday to Saturday at 8 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 regular, $13 for seniors or $5 for students.
