The Vagabond Players are stepping back in time for their season-ending production.

Terence Rattigan's classic drama The Winslow Boy is onstage at the Bernie Legge Theatre from May 31 to June 23.

The play is set in the years leading up to the First World War, tracing the story of the Winslow family.

While toasting his daughter Catherine's engagement, Arthur Winslow learns that the Royal Naval Academy has expelled his son, Ronnie, for stealing. But the boy insists he is innocent, and the family decides to pursue justice through the Military Court of Appeals and then Parliament - with the help of brilliant barrister Sir Robert Morton.

The real-life father-and-son team of Mike and Adrian Jones take on the roles of Arthur and Ronnie Winslow, and Gina Raye Young stars as the sister whose engagement is thrown into jeopardy by the furor surrounding the case.

Chris Fofonoff plays her fianc, John, and Gavin Leclaire appears as the barrister.

The cast also includes Nancy Ebert, Kris Michaleski, Rob Stover, Alison Main-Tourneur, Isabel Mendenhall and Rob Larsen.

It's directed by Johnny Duncan.

The show plays Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

The Bernie Legge Theatre is in Queen's Park.

Tickets are $15 regular or $13 for seniors and students, with two-for-one previews on May 31 and June 1.
