"It's a community effort, and the school is grateful for the many volunteers that have contributed time and talent to give these young thespians an introduction to Shakespeare," Hume Park teacher Beverly Jakeman said in an e-mail. "Some will develop a lifelong love of theatre, perhaps careers will grow as a result of this rich experience."

As a small school, Hume Park has been able to offer students this authentic theatre experience for two consecutive years, Jakeman said.

The 62-student school qualified for an ArtStarts grant to help the fund this project, and the school's parent advisory council raffled off a handmade quilt to also help pay for the production.
