The final day of advance polls for the 2024 provincial election was the busiest among eligible voters in the Tri-Cities.
Wednesday, Oct. 16, was the strongest turnout for advance voting in the Tri-Cities as residents came out in droves to cast their ballots before general election day — Saturday, Oct. 19, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Here’s how many voters showed up, according to Elections BC:
- Coquitlam–Burke Mountain = 2,942
- Coquitlam–Maillardville = 2,576
- New Westminster–Coquitlam = 1,353
- Port Coquitlam = 2,710
- Port Moody–Burquitlam = 2,869
Overall, Wednesday saw the biggest turnouts across the province — totalling 222,907 voters — with some electoral district offices seeing more than 3,500 people at their advance polls, including North Vancouver–Seymour, Kelowna–Lake Country–Coldstream and Saanich North and the Islands.
