Everyone talks about the weather - except Les Linfoot. He paints about it. Linfoot's new exhibition, Everyone Talks About the Weather... is opening at the Amelia Douglas Gallery at Douglas College on Aug. 8. "I don't really make landscape paintings.

It's Shakespeare as the Bard himself would have enjoyed it - outdoors, under the sun, in a family-friendly atmosphere. New Westminster's Shadows and Dreams Theatre Company is once again bringing Shakespeare to life at the Queen's Park bandshell.

Art lovers will be able to enjoy a collection of landscape, figurative and abstract works in the next exhibition at the Arts Council of New Westminster Gallery.

If we didn't already know there is an abundance of artistic talent in New Westminster, the New West Artists group is continuing to prove it. Members of the artists' group have been getting their work out there in all sorts of venues.

No need to go to Nashville - all the queens of country are coming right here to New Westminster. Tickets are on sale for Bonnie Kilroe's Country Queens, which takes to the stage at the Massey Theatre on Friday, Aug. 30.

Enjoy music under the summer sun this weekend at the Quay. The Hyack Festival Association's Concerts on the Quay series is continuing this Saturday, Aug. 3. The concert headliners are the blues duo of Hans Theessink and Terry Evans.

Saturday, July 27 PechaKucha New West, Westminster Pier Park, 7 to 11 p.m., free. Bring blankets, chairs and friends to hear 10 presenters speak on the festival law. River Market tenants Re-Up BBQ and Longtail Kitchen will prepare food at 7 p.m.
