Dry Christmas trees are fire hazard, Richmond Fire-Rescue is warning residents.
In a video shared on Facebook, the department shows how a light that sparks a fire on an un-watered tree can quickly ignite the whole thing.
Firefighters are reminding people to make sure their Christmas trees are watered regularly. Once Christmas is over, they suggest disposing of trees in a timely manner so they don’t sit forgotten.
One option to get rid of dry trees taking them to the annual Garry Point Park Tree Chip on Jan. 5.
