This North Vancouver penthouse is a summer lover’s dream come true.

Worth more than $2.5 million, this North Vancouver penthouse with stunning mountain and ocean views and an expansive patio, is a summer lover’s dream come true.

Watch the sun go down in the outdoor area overlooking the ocean and Lions Gate Bridge, or have a relaxing afternoon soaking in the bath looking out to the mountains – it may all seem like a daydream, but the property is one of eight luxury homes up for grabs for those who enter the 2021 Hometown Heroes Lottery.

VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation and the British Columbia Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund announced this week that tickets for the annual fundraiser are now on sale. The lottery helps raise funds for the most urgent hospital needs and supports resilience-building programs for burn survivors and firefighters in British Columbia.

In total, there are nine grand prize options for this year’s biggest winner to choose from, including luxury homes in North Vancouver, Vancouver, South Surrey, Langley, Courtenay, Sooke, Penticton, and Kelowna.

The North Vancouver prize home package at Park West at Lions Gate Village, 1633 Capilano Road, is valued at over $2.6 million. The 2,419 square-foot sub-penthouse offers three bedrooms and a den, three and a half bathrooms, a chef's kitchen, and a private garage.

With floor-to-ceiling windows, natural light flows through the modern living area and kitchen, boasting marble and wood trimmings. Wherever you sit in the penthouse living space, you'll have a beautiful view of the North Shore.

Tickets purchased also support specialized adult health services and research for British Columbians and drive innovation and sustainable health care at Vancouver General Hospital, UBC Hospital, GF Strong Rehab Centre, Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute, and Vancouver Community Health Services.

After a tough pandemic year, support is needed now more than ever.

Angela Chapman, president and chief executive of the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation, said the Lotteries have provided funds to equip B.C.’s world-class health-care teams with the tools and technology they need to provide the best care possible.

“COVID-19 has brought many new challenges for our health-care teams, but with support from British Columbians our researchers and medical teams, who treat patients from across B.C., have done a tremendous job looking after the patients in their care,” she said in a release.

The Lottery also supports the Burn Fund’s Home Away Program, which offers accommodations at the Burn Fund Centre for burn and trauma survivors while undergoing treatment in Vancouver.

Gord Ditchburn, president of the BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund, echoed how valuable the funds raised were, especially because “fundraising events were cancelled due to the pandemic.”

“For this reason, funds raised by the Hometown Heroes Lottery are extremely important; they go towards our burn prevention programs, vital survivor services, and enhanced care for burn survivors,” he said in a release.

“These programs and services help burn and trauma survivors recover both physically and emotionally. The Burn Fund can only do this because of the extreme generosity of British Columbians.”

Both Chapman and Ditchburn thanked everyone who supports the Hometown Heroes Lottery.

“You are vital to providing the most specialized healthcare and medicine for all British Columbians,” Chapman said.

There are over 3,200 prizes to win in this year’s main lottery, including the grand prize draw, three bonus draws, and early bird draws, with total prizes worth over $3.2 million.

Head to Hometown Heroes Lottery for ticket information and to see the seven other prize homes. Tickets will be sold until midnight, July 16, 2021, or until tickets sell out.
