Dear Editor:
As a longtime New Westminster resident and taxpayer, I was surprised to again read about the high salaries of city management. Our small city has 66 managers earning over $100,000, including several managers with duties that do not involve important responsibility. As a manager in the federal government, it appears that New Westminster is paying its managers 10 per cent to 20 per cent more than the federal government. As a taxpayer, I would ask city council to explain why managers in our city should get paid more than their federal counterparts?
