Re: Opposition to free parking for RCH staff called ‘selfish,’ Record News

I am a resident that would be impacted by the proposed initiative to share our street parking spaces.

I am also required to work in essential services during this difficult time. Many seniors would be forced to walk up Braid with groceries. Parents of young children would be impacted, too. I don't have space to park anywhere but on the street.

Although the 400-plus residents in the area were not consulted prior to the response, I believe that the Sapperton Residents’ Association acted in good faith and out of concern for our community.

I believe they responded quickly and with good reason and provided a quick solution (the city shouldn't charge the health workers for pay street parking). The number of visitors and people with appointments has declined. There should be enough pay street parking available. The story was slanted and nasty towards our hard-working Sapperton residents’ co-chairs.
