Crusin' with the Candidates will set sail on Tuesday night.
NEXT New Westminster and Tenth to the Fraser are hosting a Cruisin’ with the Candidates meet-and-greet with candidates on The Native paddlewheeler on Tuesday, Oct. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Tej Kainth, founder of NEXT New Westminster, said candidates will have a chance to introduce themselves and take part in a 20-minute question-and-answer session, after which time they’ll be able to mingle with candidates during the 90-minute cruise.
“It’s just a real neat way of getting to know your candidates in a casual environment,” she said. “And you get to go on a boat cruise at the same time.”
The meet-and-greet format has proven successful in the past, said Kainth, as it gives people a chance to chat with candidates about the issues they’re concerned about in a casual setting.
