A fan of the Royal Family is reflecting on the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Linda Cooper is inviting residents to attend a screening of her documentary, My Royal City 2012.

“It is a documentary about New Westminster in the Diamond Jubilee year,” she wrote in an email to The Record. “Most major events are covered, as well as personal interviews with folks who have had very close encounters with Queen Elizabeth II during her visits to New Westminster.”

The documentary, which runs almost one-and-a-half hours, will be shown on Monday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. sharp at the Columbia Theatre at 530 Columbia St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and admission is by donation.

The New Westminster native flew to Ottawa for Canada Day in 2011 so she’d have a chance to see Prince William and wife Kate Middleton during their visit to the capital.

“It was an amazing time,” she later told The Record about shaking Middleton’s hand and giving her a card.
