Letters: Use isolation time to talk to your kids

Dear Editor, I know these times are not easy for anyone. People are worried about families and friends, money, job security and providing the essentials at home.

Dear Editor,

I know these times are not easy for anyone. People are worried about families and friends, money, job security and providing the essentials at home. Parents are looking for ideas to help entertain their kids at home and continue with at-home learning.

This is a great time for us to teach patience, kindness, empathy, compassion and basic social skills. With people running amok at the grocery stores and hoarding items, what a great learning opportunity for us all to have conversations with our kids to teach them how to do better and be better.

This is far more important than reading levels and spelling tests. Conversations and words have power and can set the tone for how our youngest citizens will behave in times of crisis.
