The New Westminster Police Department has confirmed that a serious crash on Saturday was fatal for a motorcycle rider.
Emergency crews responded to a crash involving a motorcycle and a van in the 1600-block of Stewardson Way at around 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, police said in an email statement.
“Sadly, the driver of the motorcycle had succumbed to injuries,” said NWPD spokesperson Hailey Finnigan.
The police force’s collision analysis reconstruction team was called to the scene, closing Stewardson Way, east of the Queensborough Bridge, until about midnight.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone who witnessed or has information on the crash to call 604-525-5411.
