A Burnaby worker testing positive for COVID-19 is one of dozens to hit Metro Vancouver stores and restaurants to kick of 2021.
A Burnaby McDonald’s worker at the restaurant at 7229 Kingsway tested positive and last worked at the fast-food outlet on Jan. 5. (This follows two workers at the McDonald’s on Still Creek testing positive and two more at the McDonald’s at Metropolis at Metrotown restaurant also testing positive in recent days.)
Sobeys also reported multiple cases at its Safeway stores, including the store on No. 1 Road in Richmond and on King George in Surrey.
Loblaw has also reported multiple cases at its stores, including recently at the Shoppers Drug Mark on Minoru in Richmond, and Real Canadian Superstores on 104 Avenue in Surrey and No. 3 Road in Richmond.
A FreshCo store on 138 Street in Surrey is grappling with at least one positive case involving staff that was reported on Jan. 7.
A worker at the Your Independent Grocery on Kerr Street in Vancouver has tested positive for COVID-19 and last worked on Jan. 4, according to parent company Loblaw.
Loblaw also reported on Jan. 6 a positive case at its No. 3 Road Richmond Real Canadian Superstore.
