North Vancouver RCMP are looking for anyone who was in the area on March 29, 2022.

North Vancouver RCMP are looking for witnesses or dashcam footage in relation to an e-scooter crash that resulted in a head injury to the rider.

The crash was around 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday (March 29) near the intersection of Capilano Road and Marine Drive.

Police say two friends had just come over the Lions Gate Bridge on electric scooters and were headed for Capilano Road when the man riding in front reached the left turn lane and realized his friend was no longer near him. When he looked back, he saw the man lying on Marine Drive on the opposite side of the median.

“He did not see what happened, and did not know if his friend had simply lost control or if another vehicle had been involved in the incident,” a release from the RCMP stated.

The friend sustained cuts, abrasions and a head injury that caused some memory loss, although he is expected to recover, according to police.

Now investigators are hoping tips for dashcam footage from the public can help piece together what happened in the moments leading up to the crash.

Anyone who was driving across the Lions Gate Bridge from Vancouver to North Vancouver on Tuesday, March 29, between 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., and has dash cam footage showing the riders or who witnessed the crash, is asked to contact North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311.
