Port Moody police (PMPD) are hoping local residents can help them with a new survey about community safety.

From now until June 1, anyone who lives, works, studies in or frequents the City of the Arts is being asked to complete a questionnaire in order to obtain feedback and perceptions about public safety.

"This five-minute anonymous survey will be used to help our department make informed decisions about where and how our resources can best serve the needs of the community," explains PMPD Chief Constable David Fleugel.

Interested participants will also be asked about their "sentiments" towards the PMPD, the survey introduction reads.

It adds the survey is pertained to local policing services, and not those on a regional, provincial or national level.

After the deadline, the data will be collected to create a summary that'll be shared at a later date on social media and through the PMPD's community partners.

To participate, you can visit the survey's website.

For more information or questions, you're asked to call the PMPD department at 604-461-3456 and ask for crime analyst Vienna Lam or email info@portmoodypolice.com.
